Obstacle 76: Perfectionism

“I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence I can reach for.  Perfection is God‘s business. ~Michael J. Fox

Perfectionism perpetuates stagnation.  The harder you stive for perfection, the surer it is that you will be transfixed.  Pefection is impossible, excellence is reachable.

Distinguish yourself by letting excellence or doing your best be your signature.  Stop waiting for the perfect moment to begin, start right now. An obsession with doing things perfectly is a defense mechanism that is hinged on irrationality and fear. It is erroneous to think that by waiting for perfection you eliminate mistakes or criticism. You don’t.

Leave perfection to God.

Opportunity Step: Define what “excellence” means today.
