Obstacle 77: Pessimism

“A  small trouble is like a pebble. Hold it close to your eye and it  fills the whole world and puts everything out of focus….Throw it at your feet and it can be seen in its natural setting, just one more tiny bump on the pathway to life.” ~Celia Luce

Pessimism permeates the soul.  It breeds cynicism.  Pessimism is a distorted mindset that deceives so convincingly that troubles, like pebbles become boulders, are magnified and opportunities become mis-shapened or unidentifiable.

Robin Sharma says, “Everything is personal, permanent, and punative” to a pessimist.  And, most often what you think is what you get.  Claude Bristol in his book, The Magic of Believing, asserts “to know thyself” and “to know your power” to counteract pessimism.

Ligthen up! Laugh and have fun. Give yourself a break, don’t take youself or life circumstances so serious all the time. Just exhale, do that right now and you will feel the difference. Be in joy, you can make the impossible possible.

Neutralize pessimism by taking deliberate action. Use “I think I can” statements to command your destiny.

Don’t save the laughter.
