“We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The result is the same.” ~ Carlos Casteneda
DEPRESSION debates reality. Emotional pain, caused by depression, distorts reality and one’s perception of self-worth. A healthy valuation of one’s worth is vital to success.
Hyper-criticalness, low spirits, irritability, isolation, lack of motivation, reluctance to take on even simple tasks, inability to concentrate are symptoms of psychological conflict. Have hope, depression is treatable.
Catastrophic events threaten our equilibrium and even can shuffle one’s values and priorities. But, don’t worry, get treatment. For some group therapy or counseling sessions where you get to talk it out is adequate, others may need medical intervention or a blend of the two to re-balance brain pathways and hormones.
Depression deserves a lot more attention than it gets in society and in the medical practice. Even so, you can climb this obstacle and change your outlook. Tap into happiness. Tune into your goals and needs. Exercise. Do something. Increase your energy.
