Obstacle 13: Burnout

“The essential conditions of everything you do must be choice, love, passion.” ~Nadia Boulanger

BURNOUT bends destiny. Doing too much, at the sacrifice of your emotional and physical health, induces suffering. Suffering cancels success.

Usually the symptoms of burnout indicate that your life areas are askew – something is out of order, meaning there is an imbalance. But, so many people live such a frenetic lifestyle today that the obstacle of burnout and its consequences are often overlooked.

However, you cannot climb every obstacle if you are exhausted. Pace yourself, slow down and breathe. You do not have to push yourself to the limit to succeed.

Achievers use coping mechanisms – relaxation, meditation, exercising, a new hobby, vacations, visualizations – to maintain a healthy, sustainable balance. Eliminate the rush.

Opportunity Step: Meditate for fifteen (15) minutes today.
